Program Requirements
In order to be eligible for certification you must complete the following within one year of beginning the program:
Online Application
Fill out the online application form completely. If eligible, you will be contacted to schedule an initial interview. More information regarding eligibility is available here.
Initial Interview
The Initial Interview will take place using Skype or a similar platform and will be scheduled at the convenience of the Certification Program Committee, usually within 1-2 weeks of receipt of the application. All interviews are scheduled based on U.S. Pacific Time. Other time zones will be accommodated as best as possible. If you have not been contacted regarding an interview, please use this form to contact the Committee.
Signed Agreement
All persons undergoing the Sex Positive Professional Certification Program are required to sign the Agreement as a condition of completing the program and gaining access to the online training portion of the program. Failure to sign the Agreement will result in a delay of the certification process and may result in the failure to become certified.
Online Training
The Online Training is a significant portion of the overall program and is estimated to take approximately 4-6 months (~150 hours) depending on your level of involvement, previous knowledge, reading and writing skills, and other factors. Read more about the Online Training here.
Workshop Attendance
A portion of the overall certification process is required attendance at one of our Sex Positive Professional Workshops. These are held 1-2 times per year in different locations. Although we would prefer you to attend in person, arrangements can be made for those who are unable to travel for some reason. Read more about the Workshops here.
Conference Attendance
A portion of the overall certification process is required attendance at one of our conferences or another approved conference. You will need to show proof of conference attendance as part of this requirement. Click here for a list of approved conferences.
Assessment
In order to become certified as a Sex Positive Professional, you must undergo and successfully pass the program’s assessments. There are smaller assessments within the online training program, as well as a culminating assessment that should be taken upon completing the online training, but prior to your final interview. It may be useful to schedule your Workshop attendance prior to the final assessment as well, although this is not required.
Exit Interview
The Exit Interview is scheduled after all other components of the program have been completed. The Exit Interview will take place using Skype or a similar platform and will be scheduled at the convenience of the Certification Program Committee, usually within 1-2 weeks of the receipt upon verification of completion of all other components of the program. All interviews are scheduled based on U.S. Pacific Time. Other time zones will be accommodated as best as possible. If you have not been contacted regarding this interview, please use this form to contact the Committee.
